'Mirrai' Limited Edition Print
Mirrai’ means little girl in Nhunngal language. This artwork is inspired by my two Mirrais (my daughters) and the community that supports them and our future generations.
My mirrais inspire all that I do and I hope to encourage them and all future generations to show a respect for each other, our culture and the land.
The u-shapes reflect people as it is the mark that would be left behind on the land after sitting cross-legged around a campfire. This design shows our future generations in the middle surrounded by their family and community who love them deeply and care for them and the land. The bottom right corner is filled with Aboriginal symbols which is a respect to our Ancestors and the knowledge that is held within the land itself. The designs in the background represent the beauty of the land, our trees, waterways and wildflowers.
Our future generation holds the key to a sustainable future and it is so important we encourage a deep respect for our culture, land and each other.
This piece is in-store pick-up only. If you are out of the area and wish to have Mirrai shipped please contact Hermana House at customerservice@hermanahouse.com.au
